Seeking Input from TK-K Educators via Survey

Local educational agencies (LEAs), early childhood educators and administrators, and the California Department of Education (CDE) would like to gather information on curriculum utilized in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten. The purpose of this survey is to collect data on the curriculum currently used throughout the state by county offices of education, districts, and schools for TK and K. As part of the state’s Prekindergarten to Third Grade (P-3) efforts, the CDE is updating the California Preschool Learning Foundations, the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) observational tool, and the corresponding California Preschool Curriculum Frameworks. Through this, the CDE will be addressing stronger alignment and a framework to make a P-3 connection across the standards, DRDP, and curriculum.

The information collected in this survey will provide baseline data of what curricula is currently utilized statewide and help inform this project. All questions on this survey are required.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Provide Feedback on the Revised Preschool Learning Foundations (PLF)

The California Department of Education would like to hear from preschool and TK teachers, family child care providers, coaches and trainers, site supervisors, and directors! Share your feedback on the revisions of the PLF for the following three domains: Visual and Performing Arts, Health, and Physical Development. The remaining domains of the PLF are still under development, so there will be a separate opportunity to provide feedback on those domains in January 2023.

If you want to help shape the next iteration of the PLF, please fill out the interest form below to participate in the virtual focus groups (about 1 hour and 15 minutes). Those selected for a focus group will receive a $50 stipend as compensation for participating.
